Bedroom Lust: Ruthie Sommers' L.A. Home

I apologize for the crappy scanned image, but I just had to share this bedroom as seen in the latest issue of House Beautiful. I'm obsessed! I love Ruthie Sommers' use of bright and cheerful colors in her designs, so naturally I was thrilled to find a story on her L.A. home. While all of the rooms in her home exemplify her less serious take on decorating, this bedroom has to be my absolute favorite.
An orange and purple suzani, a faux ocelot throw blanket, the French headboard upholstered in a subtle zig zag fabric, a bench in green Granada by Raoul Textiles with pale blue welting, the bright canary yellow striped side chair, all anchored by the background of de Gournay's Askew wallpaper - it perfectly encompasses Sommers' notion that elements of a room do not have to match in order to work within a space. I love that, in this particular room, contrast creates balance. I think if I had to choose one designer to do my own home, she might be it!
