Red Carpet Review: 2011 Oscars

Last night unofficially closed out awards season and the Oscar red carpet did not disappoint. Purples, reds, nudes, oh my! Without further delay, here are my best and worst dressed from last night...

Best dressed:
Gwyneth Paltrow in Calvin Klein. So sleek, so modern. Could do without the strange jewelry but this is a definite hit nevertheless.
Hailee Steinfeld in Marchesa. So perfectly age appropriate. She stole the show. Love the length and love that she kept it young with a headband and no jewelry.
Jennifer Hudson in Versace. The color! Her body! Amazing!
Natalie Portman in Rodarte. THANK GOD SHE FINALLY GOT IT RIGHT! The cut works perfectly on her body, the color is amazing and her Tiffany earrings were to die for! Phew!
Sharon Stone in Christian Dior. So often she has misses on the red carpet but this was a definite hit.
Annett Benning in Naeem Khan. Love this dress. I'm so glad someone wore it.
Hilary Swank in Gucci. The dress does it all - she needs no jewelry.
Ok, so not exactly a gown, but Anne Hathaway on stage in this Lanvin ensemble makes me want to own a tuxedo! I don't think I'd look that good though. Sigh.
Reese Witherspoon channeling a 60s bombshell in Armani Prive. Stunning. One of my best dressed BY FAR.
Anne Hathaway in Armani Prive. While this dress didn't come down the red carpet, it was one of my favorites of the night. I couldn't picture how this dress would go from the runway to the red carpet, but she is one of the few who could pull it off. Obsessed.
Jennifer Lawrence in Calvin Klein. What can I say? Stunningly, sexily, simply gorgeous.
Cate Blanchett in Givenchy. I love that she dresses for fashion. So avant garde and such a risk but it just works. Take it or leave it, but I LOVED it! And her hair couldn't be more perfect. All together a huge wow factor!
Mila Kunis in Elie Saab. I have to say, she looks better than the runway model in this dress! Seriously sexy. The color is perfect for her. The cut is fantastic, the lace is just enough adornment and yet so unique and interesting at the same time. Looove!!! Best. Dressed.

Bleeeh:
Anne Hathaway in Valentino. I don't really have anything bad to say about this dress. I don't love it, I don't hate it. I just think she can do better. Her dresses on stage were waaaay better.
Halle Berry in Marchesa. I like the top, not the bottom. And to be honest, I've seen enough of the nude crystal gowns. I want to see more color!
Michelle Williams in Chanel. Pretty. But boring. She needed something major to make up for that daisy mishap.
Sandra Bullock in Vera Wang. Honestly, this dress is beautiful. But Sandra seems like such a cool, laid back person. I would have loved to see her in a softer and less severe look.

Shield your eyes! Worst dressed:
Amy Adams in L'Wren Scott. Love the color. Love the sparkle. Hate the high neck. Hate the sleeves. Hate the necklace with it.
Florence Welch in Valentino. I can't differentiate between the dress and her skin.
Scarlett Johansson in Dolce and Gabanna. I just did not like this dress or the see-through effect. Or her hair. She went all wrong this awards season.
Melissa Leo in Marc Bouwer. You're favored to win an Academy Award and THIS is what you choose to wear? Wassup?
Nicole Kidman in Dior. This is some sort of weird origami ordeal. Not a fan of the red shoes with it either. Oooh Nicole, you were a big miss this year.
And the award for worst dressed? Marisa Tomei in I-don't-even-know-what. She looks like a duster.

And there you have it! The final red carpet of the season. What were your favorites? Your least favorites?

Until next year!
