Bedroom Lust: B. Jones

Beth Jones, of fashion and personal styling company B. Jones Style, has become a style icon of mine. Through her company and blog (of which I read religiously), Beth radiates her love for glamorous and dramatic dressing. The girl puts together outfits that most of us could never dream up, using vintage pieces mixed with modern touches to create a completely personalized and creative style. She's also the online fashion editor for Quicksilver Women's. Seriously, could she get any cooler? And while her style is admittedly much more unique than mine, I love that she seeks to bring back the well-dressed woman. As I sit at work in flip flops. Her flair for drama and romance, mixing found and new objects, as well as her crucial ability to show restraint, carries over to her bedroom, which she shared on B. Jones Style. When can I move in?
Beth, in her Orange County, California bedroom.
I am obsessed with this space. A place for lounging with an engaging book, a spot to rest your morning latte, a romantic and inviting bed, and ample room to dance around in front of the mirror (not that I do that or anything).
Italian Campaign Canopy Bed from Anthropologie. Pillows from Homegoods. Antique chandelier. Lawn art spray painted and used for wall art. Genius.
This amazing mirror was left over by the home's previous owners (how lucky?!?!).

Chest, found on Craigslist, was painted white and decorated with thrifted and antique frames and mirrors.
The chaise lounge was another thrift store find and was covered with an Ikea fur throw.

Check out more of B. Jones' stylish endeavors, as well as the rest of her enviable bedroom here.

A Little Sugar

On a rainy windy day like today when I haven't left the house, I sure wish I had some adorable loungewear from Plum Pretty Sugar to lift my spirits and make me feel pretty. Instead, I'm donning old elastic sweatpants from college and channeling Jersey Shore in boys' white tank undershirts.

The robes and loungewear sets also make the perfect gift for bridesmaids or a bride-to-be, either for her honeymoon or getting ready on the big day...

Their dresses and tunics would be great for Easter brunch or a casual summer cover-up...

And after I'm done lounging all day, I'd cozy up with a good book in their oh-so-pretty bedding sets, shielding the morning light with dainty floral curtains...

Good Bones

Yesterday, I curled up on the couch on a dreary afternoon with a delicious buttery pastry and a giant cup of coffee to enjoy the latest issue of Rue. There I found a story on the home of one of my favorite bloggers, Bailey McCarthy of Peppermint Bliss. Not only does Bailey have an incredible eye for style (check out her wedding - unbelievable!), she is seriously hilarious. Her posts perk up my mornings like a venti quad non-fat peppermint latte (and pastry).

Recognizing the good foundation but poor layout of their new home, Bailey and her husband, Peter, gutted the late-1800s brick townhouse and made it all their own. The result? A cozy and livable yet stylish study in reworked furniture and repurposed artifacts. But where this house actually becomes a home is in the signature touches of humor. "It's decorating," says Bailey, who has aptly named her home Clifford the Big Red House. "It's not that serious but it can be really great."

(Love this little vignette. I own an old writing desk exactly like this one. I was ready to put it up on Craigslist until I saw this photo. Now with a little paint and some new hardware, I'm inspired to breathe new life into that baby!)

(This bathroom is wonderfully traditional, except for the cheeky placement of the painting-turned-blind over the window. The perfect personal touch.)
(Saved the best for last...Bailey's closet! Note the gold hangers and colorful sparkly frocks. To.die.for.)

Check out the rest of this spunky home and the March/April issue of Rue here.

New Blog Fave

Today I was delighted to learn that the one and only Kelly Wearstler has started her very own blog, entitled, My Vibe My Life. While she only has one post up so far, I can't wait to check back daily for her fabulous new musings and personal photographs. Her work is such an influence on me and I'm so excited for her to share her vibe!

The weekend is almost here, loves! Just one day more;)
